Canon Powershot A2000IS digital camera

Click here for more of my comments on the Canon PowerShot A2000 IS camera.
I'm pretty sure the Canon PowerShot A2000 IS camera
is in a number of ways better than the Canon PowerShot A710 IS (7.1 megapixels)
that I bought in June 2007 for about $280.00 at OfficeDepot.
Before I decided to buy the A710 I did quite a bit of research because
I had to be very careful with my finances.
My A710 has aperture priority or shutter priority options,
but the A2000 doesn't.
I think the A710 is no longer widely available.

Less Expensive Digital Camera
Canon PowerShot A1100 IS digital camera
Click here for more of my comments on the Canon PowerShot A1100 IS camera.
The Canon PowerShot A1100 IS camera (12.1 megapixels)
is less expensive than the A2000 IS.
The A1100 has a 2.5" LCD screen with 115,000 pixels
like my Canon PowerShot A710 IS with 7.1 megapixels.
But my A710 has aperture priority or shutter priority options,
but the A1100 doesn't.

Chargers for hybrid batteries (NiMH)
Energizer 1-hour charger (model CH1HRCP-4)

It can charge up to 4 AA or 4 AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries
in about 1 hour.
(NiMH is the abbreviation for nickel-metal hydride.)
This 1-hour charger may be better than the 15-minute charger
because the 1-hour charger may put less stress on the batteries
because the charging current is less than the 15-minute charger.
This may cause the batteries to work longer for more charging cycles.
Some users have written that after some batteries have been used
for a few weeks or months the batteries that are charged by
the 15-minute charger don't last as long
as when they were new.
One user stated it his batteries
only last a quarter of the time from
the time they were first charged
when using the 15-minute charger.
I didn't realize these things until after I bought the Energizer 15-minute
charger.
The deterioration may be happening case with my
Energizer 15-minute
charger and
Energizer batteries,
but I haven't
noticed it.
Some of the other Energizer charges charge in about
8 hours and 16.5 hours. These may even put
less stress on the batteries than the 15-minute and 1-hour chargers.
BE VERY CAREFUL!
There are many Energizer charger models.
Their NiMH battery chargers take between 15 minutes and 16.5 hours
depending on the situation.
Some chargers can charge 9-volt, D, C, AA and AAA size batteries.
For information (including charge current) on their many battery chargers:

Energizer 1-hour charger (model CH1HRCP-4)

This 1-hour charger may be better than the 15-minute charger
because the lower charger current should put less stress on the batteries,
which should cause the batteries to work better for more cycles.
The 1HR in the model number indicates that it is the 1-hour model.

Energizer 15-minute quick charger (model CH15MNCP-4)
I have this charger and have noticed no problems so far, but I will pay closer attention.
I bought this charger before I heard that it may cause batteries
to deteriorate faster than with a 1-hour charger because of the
higher charging current (see explanation above).
The 15MN in the model number indicates that it is the 15-minute model.
